Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar have one job to do this weekend at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace competing in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. They need to score points for their Visa Cash App Racing Bulls team in order to hold their sixth place in the all-important Constructor’s Championship. Four teams sit within 12-points of each other. Racing Bulls (72-points) hold a three- point lead over Aston Racing (69-points) with Haas seven points further back on 62 and Sauber on 60.

“São Paulo is an old school circuit loved by drivers, engineers and fans alike,” commented Tim Goss, Racing Bulls Chief Technical Office. “One of the few circuits that runs in a counterclockwise direction with a really good mix of high-speed sections and low speed corners with some significant elevation changes and banked corners thrown in to add to the challenge.

“On top of this, the weather is unpredictable, with potential for sun, cloud, or rain, alongside the variations in track temperature and grip that come with it. Pirelli bring the C2, C3 and C4 tyres which are on the harder end of the range. It’s a Sprint weekend so we will make sure we put all our recent learning on car balance and utilisation to do our best to hit the ground running.”

“With four more races to go, I’m very excited to head to Brazil, which is home to a very iconic track with a lot of history,” said Lawson. “I drove here in F1 for the first time last year, and it was a super intense weekend with crazy weather, so I expect there could be a chance of that again. They’ve resurfaced the track, so this is something we’ll all need to account for following last year’s bumpy conditions. As a team, we’ll be optimising our car to make it as strong as possible this weekend. “
