The reason that leaves Jaxon Evans without a 2026 Supercars drive

Jaxon Evans is no slouch. The Kiwi driver is currently campaigning for SCT Motorsport as part of the Brad Jones Racing team in the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.

He has won a number of titles including the 2018 Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, awarding him with the opportunity to compete at the Porsche Junior Programme Shootout at the end of the calendar year. Having won this scholarship, he took a €225,000 prize towards a drive in the 2019 Porsche Supercup.

He won the 2020 Porsche Carrera Cup France title, was runner up in the 2021 Porsche Supercup and took victory in the 2025 Bathurst 12 Hour with Arise Racing GT. He also comes with experience in the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

This is his second season in the Supercars category. For 2024 he finished in 23rd and this year, heading to the Gold Coast, he is currently 22nd. Nothing flash, but such is the competition in Supercars who can list in order, those outside the top five?

He also competes in the GT World Challenge Australia and his Arise Racing GT is currently leading the series with two rounds to go.

So, why is he out of a Supercars drive for 2026.

His SCT Logistics have been involved in Supercars since 2013 as a sponsor of the Supercheap Auto Holden Commodore before purchasing its own Racing Entitlement Contract (REC) and beginning a sporting services partnership” with Brad Jones Racing to run a Holden Commodore from 2020 and Chevrolet Camaro from 2023 under its own entity, SCT Motorsport. The team is owned by the Smith family, which operates the SCT logistics empire.

Here’s a breakdown of the changes with Brad Jones Racing, SCT Motorsport, Triple Eight and Jaxon Evans.

On 1 October 2025 it was announced that SCT Motorsport had split with Jaxon Evans, that the Kiwi driver would leave at the end of the season. At this stage, no replacement driver was announced.

On the 16 October (After the Bathurst 1000), Brad Jones Racing confirmed it will part ways with SCT Motorsport at the conclusion of the current Supercars season.

A day later, on the 17 October 2025, SCT Motorsport announced a partnership with Triple Eight Racing Engineering that would see the Brisbane based factory build and run a third full time Supercar in the 2026 Championship.

It is to be run alongside it’s two existing Red Bull Ampol Racing cars driven by Supercars Championship leader Broc Feeney and reigning Supercars Championship winner Will Brown. The deal is for two years that will see Triple Eight build, manage and race an SCT Motorsport entry for the 2026 and 2027 Supercars seasons.

So, the split with both Evans and Brad Jones Racing is more about the moving of the SCT Logistics REC from Brad Jones Racing over to Triple Eight Racing Engineering. This is not necessarily about Jaxon Evans. He just happens to be the driver who is caught up with the consequences of the change.

Maybe Evans needs to head back to full-time GT racing?
