Ninth place and two championship points at the 2025 Qatar F1 Grand Prix for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson has been seen as a real bonus.

“It’s positive to come away from the race with points after where we started,” commented Liam Lawson. “We had really strong pace when we were in clean air, but then spent the majority of the race in traffic”

Unfortunately for teammate Isack Hadjar a puncture forced him into retirement late in the race.

“The front wheel deflector broke which we think is likely a consequence of the heavy kerbing here,” said Allan Permane, Racing Bulls Team Principal. “Nevertheless, it shouldn’t do that, and we will investigate how it happened. Up to that point, it was an incredibly strong race, we were in for sixth place and racing well.

“Liam had a very strong race; from 12th to 9th, finishing in the points and showing really good pace throughout the race.”

Racing Bulls continue to hold sixth overall in the Constructor’s title fight, just 12-points ahead of Aston Martin Racing with just one Grand Prix remaining for the season.

“I’m looking forward to closing out the season in Abu Dhabi while we fight for our position in the Constructors’,” said Lawson.
