Eight for Cassidy and Hirakawa in Thailand

The No 1 KeePer TOM’S LC500 drivers Nick Cassidy and Ryo Hirakawa have finished eighth in the fourth round of the Super GT Series at the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand.

It was the No. 39 DENSO KOBELCO SARD LC500 driven by ex F1 drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Kamui Kobayashi that won the race after starting from third on the grid. In the GT300 class, the No. 11 GAINER TANAX GT-R driven by Katsuyuki Hiranaka and Hironobu Yasuda was the winner.

Having started from 12th, it was always going to be a struggle for Cassidy and Hirakawa who were carrying extra ballast. Having moved up to eighth position, trouble with the changing the left rear in a pitstop cost the team valuable time, dropping them down to 11th. However luck was on their side with several competitors retiring enabling Hirakawa to cross the line in eighth.

Heading to the fifth round at Fuji in early August the pair have slipped from third to four overall in the points standings.
