With six out of eight DTM race weekends completed, Liam Lawson will arrive at the iconic Hockenheimring circuit this weekend set on ensuring that his rookie campaign is a winning one as he looks to fend off his rivals in a four-way fight for the DTM Series title.
“I know the Hockenheim circuit very well as we have already done some testing there,” commented the Kiwi. “The last few race weekends have gone really well. I am just looking forward to getting back into the car and hopefully scoring plenty of points to give us a good starting position in Nuremberg.”
Another strong weekend at Assen, a fortnight ago, saw the 19-year-old Lawson turn a 12-point deficit into a 10-point lead as he converted pole and third on the grid into third and second place finishes respectively.
Lawson has recorded three wins and five further podiums this season along with 13 extra points thanks to two pole positions, three second-place results in qualifying and one third place.
The aim this weekend is for Lawson to defend top spot in his #30 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 in the Red Bull livery and then to travel to the Norisring (GER) one week later for the finale weekend.
