Lights to flag victory for Bamber

Kiwi driver Earl Bamber made a successful ‘one-off’ appearance at the final weekend of racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at the Shanghai International Circuit in China. Proving his champion-status the two time champion of the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia and winner of the 2015 24-hours of Le Mans race, took a lights to flag victory after starting in P1 in the first of two races held in support of the World Endurance Championship round.

It was the final two races of the 12 round series which saw 19-year-old Nico Menzel of PICC Team Starchase crowned Champion of the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. Kamlung Racing’s Maxime Jousse took second overall while Mitchell Gilbert beat Porsche China Junior’s Andrew Tang to secure the third.
