Tough Thailand round expected by Cassidy

Current Super GT Series title holders Nick Cassidy and Ryo Hirakawa compete in the fourth round of the Japanese Super GT Series this weekend.

The KeePer TOM’S LC500 team mates return to the Buriram International Circuit in Thailand where last season they were fastest in qualifying and went on to win the race.

The odds this time will not be in their favour as the more successful a car is in this series, the more ballast/weight they must then carry.

Having finished third on the podium at the last round at the Suzuka circuit in Japan, the pairing is currently third overall in the eight-round competition.

The overseas event was held as Round 7 in October last year, but has been moved to Round 4 this year as a closing event of the first half of the season. Event host Buriram track is know to be a very technical where drastic changes in weather is a norm in tropical Thailand.
