A second Kiwi driver is competing at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin Texas this weekend with Ryan Yardley driving in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Pro class, a support category to the US Formula One Grand Prix. The Cantabrian has retaken the lead in the series with his second win of the season in Saturday’s penultimate round.
Driving the #78 Topp Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, Yardley took a lights-to-flag victory over Kellymoss driver Aaron Jeansonne, which ended under yellow following a late-race accident by Scott Blind.
Yardley, who was tied with Riley Dickinson for the points lead saw him provisionally extend his advantage to ten-points with the latter finishing third.
The final season-ending Race 2 is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. CST.
