Historic muscle cars a drawcard at Speedfest

One of the big drawcards among some very special race cars at this weekend’s Evolution Motorsport Classic SpeedFest at Teretonga Park will be the Historic Muscle Cars.
Nine different classes will take to the circuit over the weekend with drivers from around the globe and some very special cars on track during a weekend when SpeedFest celebrates 25 years.

The Historic Muscle Car field will definitely be a highlight for many spectators featuring as it does iconic marques such as Chev Camaro, Ford Mustang, Holden Torana and Ford Falcon’s.

Nigel MacDonald of Hawera will bring south the ex-Red Dawson Shelby Mustang which Dawson used to win the 1970 NZ Saloon Car Championship while local honour in the class will be upheld by Colin Dawson of Invercargill in his Chev Camaro.

Other classes include the Formula Junior single seater cars appearing at Teretonga as part of their Diamond Jubilee World Tour plus Classic Saloons, Formula Libre, Historic Touring Cars, Sports Cars, Vintage Racing Cars plus the Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons – a mouthwatering array of diverse and exciting cars.
