The second round of the 2024 North Island Endurance Series (NIERDC) takes place this Saturday, 25 May 2024, at the Taupo Motorsport Park, Taupo with free entry for spectators.
It’s an Audi top three in the Three-Hour title race with Luke Manson and James Penrose (Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3) five-points ahead of Sam Fillmore and Jonny Reid (Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3) with Steve Brooks and Bill Riding (Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3) in third.
Joel Giddy (Mercedes-Benz AMG GT2) leads the One-Hour title race from Hunter Robb (Porsche 991.2 GT3 Cup) and Paul Southam, (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup).
With a maximum of 95-points on the line, title contenders cannot afford to make a mistake or fail to finish a race with one round remaining to be held at the Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon 8 June 2024
The One-Hour 20 minute qualifying session takes place at 10:20am with the race underway at 11:40am.
The 30-minute Three-Hour qualifying session takes place at 19:45am with the race underway at 1:45pm.
The One-Hour race is for NZ Endurance Championship Classes 2, 3, 4, and 5. Class 3 includes FIA GT4 category cars.
The Three-Hour race is for NZ Endurance Championship classes, GT4, GT3 and Class 1, for eligible open-class cars.
The Three-Hour race incorporates the Michelin Am-Am trophy, a GT4 category trophy, and a new Porsche Trophy.
Any two of the three NIERDC One and Three-Hour race meetings also count toward the 2024 New Zealand Endurance Championship, as do any two of the three 2024 South Island Endurance Series race meetings.
