Paul Morris to star at Pukekohe in the Ssangyong Ute Series

The “Dude” as he is affectionally known is to make a guest appearance, in the Takinini Ssangyong Star Ute at the Virgin Australian Supercar Pukekohe round.

Since retiring from active participation in the Australian V8 Supercar Series, the Dude, has been campaigning in the Stadium Truck Series that supports several round of the Virgin Australian Supercar Series, which has been a massive hit with race cars fans on both side of the Tasman.

“When Mark (Petch) asked me if I was up for the challenge I didn’t hesitate,” the Dude said, “I love racing and I will race just about everything put in front of me. I watched the Ssangyong race utes at Pukekohe last year and it was some of the best racing on the weekend, so I cant wait to join the action!”

Paul will race the Takinini Ssangyong Sponsored ute, formally driven by Deon Cooper, who is concentrating on the development of the 500BHP Ssangyong Super ute, which will run in several GT2 races this summer.

“We are extremely excited to have such a colourful character, and proven race winner, as the “Dude” launch our Star Car program,” said Cooper, MD, Ssangyong NZ.
