Plenty to play for at Top Half final in Tokoroa on Sunday

There’s still plenty to play for at the final round of this year’s Hampton Downs Top Half Series at Tokoroa on Sunday.

‘That’s right,” says series promotor Roger Smith. “There is still a total of around $25,000 in cash, trophies, spot and random draw prizes up for grabs with $9,250 of that in cash alone. Plus no one driver has been dominant this year in any of our classes so everyone has a chance to improve on their placings at the final round.

“Just one point separates current points leader Ashton Grant and current runner-up Braeden Snowden in Urban Performance 125cc Rotax Max Light. Then there are only two points between current leader Riley Boswell and runner-up Maxim Kirwin in International Kart Supplies Cadet ROK, and only three between Celeb Hartley and Aaron Cunningham in TCB Motorsport Rotax Max Heavy.

“Most classes are still close throughout their fields as well so I expect strong battles from the front to the back in all our classes.”

Heading into Sunday’s final 2018 Hampton Downs Top Half Series round at the KartSport Tokoroa club’s Stihl Shop Tokoroa Raceway the prize pool includes;

$7500 Series prize money
$500 Dash for Cash
$250 Supreme Kart Supplies DVS round winner
$1000 in cash spot prizes
$4000 in Round, Series and most improved trophies
$4000 in Hampton Downs Go Kart vouchers
$2000 worth of custom-painted Arai helmet thanks to Headcase Designs Signs & Graphics, Northern Accessories and Lightning Race Gear
$1800 worth of 3 x 4.5m custom printed Gazebo from One Stop Promotions.
$1200 + of CRC Industries NZ product.
$1000 of Lightning Race Gear product.
A Lascom Motorsport Dunlop tyre draw.

So far this year 146 drivers have competed in the series and Roger Smith expects another 100+ field at Tokoroa on Sunday.
