Pugstang to debut at NZ Endurance Champs

With both the North and South Island Endurance Series wrapped up, the battle for the NZ title at Hampton Downs on Saturday (7 November) will be fierce. Adding more teeth to the 3-hour fight is the world debut of the fearsome Collins & Sons Pugstang.

Cambridge based Collins & Sons Earthmoving and Cartage are pleased to expand their NZ Title quest to a two-car team, after partnering with Christchurch based race outfit Seriously Fun.

“Being from Christchurch we understand Earth Moving” said Timo St Anton, their Star Driver.

Collins & Sons will run their crowd favourite 2020 South Island Class C Champion, Roush Yates Nascar powered 358 cu.in Mustang in the One-hour race before the smaller 85.4 cu.in Pugstang contests the longer Three-hour race. The Pugstang’s are known internationally for their ability to hunt and are expected to claw their way through the field.

“Having a Tortoise and a Hare in each race will double our odds of success while maximising our exposure to a large audience” said team principal Paul Collins.

Renowned innovators Seriously Fun who aim to promote participation in motorsport have successfully delivered several track side firsts to NZ Motorsport and are looking forward to delivering an on track first with the highly anticipated Pugstang launch.

The support of Collins & Sons Earthmoving and Cartage has allowed the 10th placed overall Three-Hour finishers in the South Island Series to contest the NZ Championships.

Seriously Fun are creating a third driver opportunity to one lucky applicant from outside the pool of current endurance drivers to further their objectives on increasing participation in the sport.
