International Motorsport driver pairing Jonny Reid and Neil Foster (Audi R8) have won the latest round of the Three Hour Mahindra North Island Endurance Series held at Hampton Downs in the North Waikato.
Second home was the Ferrari of Richard Muscat and Sam Fillmore, having their lead snatched in the dying minutes.
The race was marred by a number of safety car periods following a number of incidents.
The Foster/Reid Audi led the race heading into the final hour but were closely followed by the Ferrari of Muscat/Fillmore. With the lead changing a number of times, it looked as though the Ferrari would take the chequered flag, only to run wide allowing Reid to take the win.
Winners of the opening round at Taupo, the German built SaReNi Reiter Camaro GT3 of John McIntyre and Simon Gilbertson came home third after suffering gearbox issues earlier in the race.
It was a double win for International Motorsport with Matt Whittaker winning the One Hour endurance race earlier in the day. With rain causing a number of incidents the race was eventually finished under caution behind the safety car.
Ferrari came home second with the Trass Family Motorsport F430 driven by Elliot Andrew taking second and the Porsche 911 of Rhys Warren and Shaun Varney third.
The final round takes place at Manfeild Park in Feilding 23 July.
