Skope Classic ‘good-to-go’ this weekend in Christchurch

The annual Skope Classic is underway this weekend at the Mike Pero Motorsport Park in Christchurch. Always run in early February, the 2022 event was postponed due to Covid conditions affecting outdoor activities at the time.

The line up sees some good entries in the Ron Silvester Saloons, Pat Hoare Formula Libre, Harold Heasley Saloons, Archibolds Historic Touring Cars, the Murray Maxwell Vintage Cars, John Osborne Saloons and the SAS Autoparts MSC NZ F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series.

“We are excited to finally hold the SKOPE Classic 2022,” commented Mark Wederell, Canterbury Car Club General Manager. “It was a tough decision postponing the February event, but after much discussion, the feedback was clear that SKOPE isn’t SKOPE without spectators and drivers families and crew.

“With F5000’s, Historic Touring Cars and all the other great classic and historic racing classes, the only thing different from previous SKOPE Classics is the time of the year. The weather forecast is looking great, the grass is green, we are set up for a stunning weekend of racing”.
