Alexandra Whitley has set blistering pace in Friday practice at Pukekohe Raceway in the SsangYong class as the last round of their SsangYong Actyon Racing Championship Series gets underway.
Topping the charts of the final practise and overall pace for the weekend, the Elite Motorsport Academy graduate has planted strong roots to bring home the success of the weekend.
“It has been a tough season for me, like a rollercoaster of results,” commented Whitley. “Today has been very rewarding and without the help of Gary Pederson, Cameron and their team I believe I wouldn’t have been as fast.
“Gary is the best in the business and I am fortunate enough to be working with him. I am really looking forward to the weekend and aim to be on the podium each race, it would be great to finish on a high and bring home the round win. ”
Whitley is currently placed 11th in the championship and hopes to hop, skip and jump forward a few places by the end of the weekend. Will it be an all-female front row with Whitley and Christina Orr, or will it be the newly engaged couple Whitley and Bennet.
There will be more racing action for the SsangYong Series as there are rumours of an endurance championship later in the year.
