The successful running of the Mainland Rally Championship (MRC) is set to continue in 2024 with the release of the series calendar.  The addition of back-to-back rounds over one weekend as part of the 2024 Silver Fern Rally will be the climax of the six-round competition.

The first day of Rally Otago will open the season on 14 April before the South Canterbury Rally 11 May 2024.  Both events will be part of the first two New Zealand Rally Championship rounds.

As usual, the Canterbury Rally takes place on King’s Birthday weekend, Sunday 2 June 2024.

Southland’s Wyndham Rally joins the calendar in early August with the date to be confirmed.

The final two rounds will be part of the 2024 Silver Fern Rally with the Christchurch Rally taking place on Saturday 23 November, the first day of the Silver Fern event. This one-day MRC round will start and finish in Christchurch.

This will be followed by the Westland Rally the following day, Sunday 24 November 2024, the second day of the Silver Fern Rally.  Silver Fern Rally competitors will start the day from Christchurch and face two Special Stages heading to the West Coast, and then join Westland Rally entrants who start the Westland Rally in Kumara and finish in Greymouth.

Entrants must compete in three rounds to be eligible for MRC points with the best of five rounds counting for overall placing and the best four rounds counting towards Class placings.
