Double European Champion and WRC winner Hayden Paddon is ready for his tilt at this weekend’s Donegal International Rally in Ireland. The New Zealander takes the place of Matt Edwards in the C&M Motorsport Hyundai i20 Rally2 alongside navigator Dave Moynihan.
The crew have been on recce in the days leading up to the event as they begin the process of gelling a partnership that can push at the front over the classic 20 stages of Donegal.

“We have well and truly got a taste of Irish rallying in the prep this week for the Donegal rally starting Friday,” said Paddon. “Dave (Moynihan) and I are gelling in the car during Recce and the stages look mental – very fast, but narrow and technical at the same time. The atmosphere has been amazing and it’s only going to ramp up over the weekend.”
The rally, renowned for its spectacular scenery, challenging stages, and passionate fanbase, has become a cornerstone of the Irish motorsport calendar. Over the years, it has grown into one of the most respected rallies in Europe, drawing top competitors and thousands of spectators to the stunning landscapes of County Donegal.
Known for its tricky mountain passes, high-speed stretches, and unpredictable weather, the rally will test the driver’s skill and car durability. Its undulating tarmac stages have made it a unique challenge in the world of motorsport, which attracts competitors from all over the globe vying for victory.
Twenty Special Stages totaling 274.10kms will be run over three separate legs contested over three days, Friday – Sunday 20-22 June 2025.
