Lincoln Taylor has wrapped the 2026 Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia title after a third place round finish was enough to see him crowned champion. Kiwi Hunter Robb has provisionally finished in fourth overall.

Driving for TekworkX, Taylor won the second race of the weekend in what proved to be the title changing race.

Kobi Williams came into the final day leading by 82 points and only needed to finish in front of Taylor in race two to win the championship.

Williams started from pole in very wet conditions but fell back through the field in the opening stages.

With 13 minutes to go, Williams had a flat right rear tyre and fired into the outside tyre barrier at turn 6.

Significant damage was sustained, and despite the Tyler Greenbury Racing team doing their best efforts to get the car repaired for the final race, Williams couldn’t make it.

Taylor finished third in the final race and that was enough to win the title.

Taylor stepped into Sprint Challenge this year after two seasons running in GR CUP.

“That feels amazing, it’s the first championship I’ve won,” Taylor said.

“It was hard after how yesterday went, Kobi was so fast but the Method Race Wheels rig was quick, and we pulled through today and unfortunately Kobi had a bit of an incident, but stuff happens and I’m glad he’s alright.”

Meanwhile Hayden Haikal secured the round win with victory in race 3.

He just held off Xavier Avramides in a race long battle, Avramides also going on to finish second for the round.

A third place in race 2 for Avramides was enough for him to claim the Jim Richards Endurance Trophy after Williams failed to collect points.

Anthony Gilbertson won the final race and the round in Pro-Am.
Gilbertson had already won the Pro-Am championship prior to this weekend, but the McElrea Racing driver ended the year with five round wins.

Tim Farrell was second for the round after winning race two – his first race win of the season, while Dean Wanless ended the weekend third in Pro-Am.
