‘Accelerate to the Podium’ program applications now open

Cromwell based Track Tec Racing is taking applications for it’s 2021/22 season Accelerate to the Podium Program.

The Accelerate to the Podium program focuses on building skills in future international motorsport champions by working on skills both on and off the track.

The successful applicants will spend time racing, but will also spend time learning how the car works, how to engage and interact with sponsors as well as working with mentors who have already proved that NZ talent has what it takes to make it to the highest steps of motorsport around the world.

This year, Track Tec Racing’s Accelerate to the Podium driver has spent time together with the likes of Red Bull Junior F2 driver Liam Lawson, international TCR endurance driver Rowan Shepherd, and V8 Supercar driver and NZ Grand Prix winner Shane van Gisbergen!

Working behind the scenes, you will learn how a team works, how data and simulator work supports tuning the car and getting those quick laptimes for Qualifying.

You’ll also be involved in understanding what physical and mental preparation is required to put it all together on the track.  Each race meeting, Track Tec Racing will choose several areas of focus while the whole program is designed to maximise learning and a growth mindset.

The 2021/22 Accelerate to the Podium Stage 1 drivers will likely have come from kartsport or a club motorsport background and will compete in the Formula First Winter Series and NZ Formula First Series.
