Another top-ten finish for Douglas in USF2000 at Mid-Ohio triple-header

Kiwi Jacob Douglas followed up his top five result in the first of three Coopers Tires USF2000 Championship races at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course with another top ten result in Race two. Douglas came home in seventh while fellow Kiwi Billy Frazer (#92 main photo) retired early from the race.

In the third race Douglas finished 13th while Frazer finished in 14th.

“Seventh in race 2 was a good start to the day,” commented Douglas. “Race 3 was off to a great start but unfortunately whilst in P6 we got hit off track. I managed to salvage a P13 to make the best of a bad situation. Pace was strong all weekend so a bunch of positives to take to Toronto in two-weeks.”

Myles Rowe took a huge stride toward his goal of winning this year’s series with a pair of wins from this weekend’s Cooper Tires Grand Prix of Mid-Ohio triple-header at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Rowe, from New York, N.Y., swept the opening two races for Pabst Racing, although Michael d’Orlando (Cape Motorsports), from Hartsdale, N.Y., kept himself in contention with a flag-to-flag victory in the final race of the tripleheader.

Only two race weekends and five races remain until the outcome of this year’s USF2000 title will be decided. At stake is a scholarship valued at almost $407,000 to graduate onto the next step on the Road to Indy ladder, the Indy Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, in 2023. Next up in two weeks’ time will be an eagerly awaited return to the Toronto Indy in Ontario, Canada, for a pair of races July 16/17.
