Armstrong and PREMA head to Monza for penultimate FIA F3 round

The FIA Formula 3 Championship is set for its second race outing in as many weeks and after a difficult and emotional round at Spa-Francorchamps, the teams and drivers of the developmental series are looking for a smooth weekend at the fastest venue of the schedule, Monza. The one at the historic Italian circuit will be the home round for PREMA Racing and as the Italian squad sits atop the driver and team championships, the penultimate event of 2019 will be crucial to make another step forward and set the tone for the grand finale of Sochi.

Coming from his second win in as many rounds despite an extremely difficult qualifying at Spa, New Zealander Marcus Armstrong has closed the gap to the frontrunners of the championship. The FDA-supported driver has now a chance to show his full potential in his second home country.

Russian racer Robert Shwartzman is coming from a solid weekend that handed him a double podium finish and continues to lead the driver championship. The Ferrari Driver Academy graduate is trailed by Indian teammate Jehan Daruvala. Back in the Belgian round, the 20-year-old racer broke a negative streak with a pole position and a neat second-place finish.

Performing at the top of the game will be key since practice and qualifying, even considering that Monza notably offers chances for passing and recovering.
