A late pitstop strategy has seen Nick Cassidy step onto the podium, finishing third in the Super Formula Series round at the Okayama Circuit on Sunday.
A crash early in the race saw Cassidy leap forward from his 10th starting grid. The Kiwi driver made his pitstop two laps before the chequered flag rejoining in third.
Sho Tsuboi claimed his maiden Super Formula win with Hiroaki Ishiura second.
Cassidy moves up one place to fifth overall in the overall points standing after two rounds. His Super GT Series team mate Ryo Hirakawa continues to lead with another four rounds to complete the 2020 season.
