Following the conclusion of the FIA Formula 3 Sprint Race in Monte Carlo, several drivers have been handed penalties.
The winner Van Amersfoort Racing’s Hiyu Yamakoshi was been disqualified after it was found that the front push rod LH – CPL was mounted on the right-hand side of the car, and front push rod RH – CPL was mounted on the left-hand side of the car.
It constituted a breach of Article 1.5.3 and Article 17.1 of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Technical Regulations. With Yamakoshi’s disqualification, it means that DAMS Lucas Oil’s Gerrard Xie inherits the Monte Carlo Sprint victory.
Kiwi driver Louis Sharp has been handed a Stop & Go penalty for a Breach of Article 43.5 of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations.
The PREMA Racing driver had one team member touching the car following the 15-second signal being shown and did not restart the race from the pit lane.
With Sharp unable to serve the Stop & Go in-race, it is converted into a 30-second penalty which is added to his elapsed race time.
With the penalty applied, the PREMA driver is now classified P17.
Matteo De Palo has received a 10-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage. With the penalty applied, De Palo falls to P14.
Enzo Deligny has also been awarded a 10-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage and was awarded 10-second time penalty as a result. He was has also handed a post-race Stop & Go penalty for a breach of Article 43.5 of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations. It was converted into a 30-second time penalty. Deligny now finishes P23.
Nicola Lacorte has been awarded a 10-second time penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage. Also, the Italian has been handed a separate Stop & Go penalty (converted into a 30-second penalty) for a Breach of Article 43.5 of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations. Lacorte now finishes in 22nd position.
Brad Benavides has been handed a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision. With the American driver failing to finish the Sprint Race, the time penalty is converted into a drop of five grid positions.
Tuukka Taponen has been handed a 10-second time penalty for causing a collision. They applied the standard 10-second time penalty and with the MP driver failing to finish the Sprint Race, it is converted into a drop of five grid positions. He will serve the penalty at the next Feature Race in which he competes.
Fernando Barrichello has been handed a ten-second Stop & Go penalty. Car 28 had a team member in the fast lane and with team equipment still connected to the car after the 15-second signal had been shown, and did not restart from the pitlane, constituting a breach of Article 43.5 of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations. With Barrichello unable to serve the penalty in-race, the Stop & Go is converted into a 30-second time penalty, and with that applied to his race time, the Brazilian is now classified P20.
Woohyun Shin has been handed a Stop & Go penalty (converted into a 30-second penalty) for a Breach of Article 43.5 of the FIA Formula 3 Sporting Regulations. With his penalty applied, Shin is now classified P18 in the order.
Yevan David has been awarded a Stop & Go penalty (converted into a 30-second penalty) after having two team members touching Car 27 following the 15-second signal had been shown, and failing to restart the race from the pit lane. With those 30 seconds applied, the AIX driver now finishes P21.
