Sceats heads to Lucas Oil oval a race winner

Kiwi Liam Sceats head to the ninth round of the USF Pro 2000 Championship fourth overall on the points table after inheriting a win at the previous round courtesy of a technical infraction to a fellow competitor that was announced post-event.

USF Pro 2000 Presented by Continental Tire returns to Indiana for the second time in May competing on the first oval of the season at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. After showing their strength at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, TJ Speed Motorsports wants to continue its success in the Hoosier State.

Last time out in the triple-header weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Aussie-spirited team brought home five top-five finishes, including two podiums scored by Liam Sceats, the second podium resulting in his first race victory.

TJ Speed brings three drivers to the sole oval race of the season, with INDY NXT by Firestone and Andretti Global’s Bryce Aron joining Liam Sceats and Hunter Yeany.

“Our team has been strong all season,” said Team Owner Tim Neff. “Liam and Hunter have had successful rookie seasons so far, and we are excited to have Bryce join us for this round. Oval racing is a different challenge than what we’ve had so far this season, but we have a lot of momentum heading into this weekend, and I think we can get some more great results.”

Following four test sessions, the USF Pro 2000 field will take to the track Thursday evening for qualifying. Friday will host the one and only official practice session of the weekend, and the race is set to take place Friday night.
