Drivers descend on Mount Panorama for 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000

The stage is set for the 2025 running of Australia’s Great Race: the Repco Bathurst 1000.

Less that 24 hours out from the official start of practice, teams and drivers are at Mount Panorama Circuit today completing final preparations for the 65th running of the Bathurst 1000.

All 12 previous winners in this year’s field gathered at the circuit today to speak to media, before embarking on their mission to etch their name into the Peter Brock Trophy once again.

Four-time Bathurst winner Jamie Whincup figures to be among the favourites this year, partnering with championship leader Broc Feeney who has already scored 12 race wins in 2025.

Chaz Mostert has won the Great Race twice, and reunites with Kiwi Fabian Coulthard this year to take care of unfinished business – the pair finish second when they last drove together in 2022.

Generational great Craig Lowndes makes his 32nd Bathurst 1000 start this year, pairing with 21-year old Zach Bates in the latter’s first Great Race start in what will also be Lowndes’ final start for Triple Eight Race Engineering.

On-track action at the Mountain begins Thursday with practice, with the highly-anticipated 1000-kilometre race beginning at 11:45 a.m. AEDT on Sunday.
