Kiwi driver Matt Payne has converted his pole position to a maiden Dunlop Super2 Series victory in Perth.
The Grove junior has also taken the series lead after Zak Best failed to finish.
Payne crossed the line a second to the good ahead of Cameron Hill, with Tyler Everingham third.
Payne will carry a 63-point heading into Sunday’s second race;
Drivers will return to the track for qualifying on Sunday at 8:40am local time.
