Wilson Security Racing GRM (Volvo Polestar Racing) heads to the V8 Supercars race at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend, the very track where Scott McLaughlin claimed his second victory of 2014.
”We had a win last year and our car normally handles pretty nice here. The whole category has raised their bar though, being a lot faster and competitive, so going to be even harder than before. But I am confident that we can go with the setup we had last year and give it a good go,” said McLaughlin.
Team mate David Wall is keen to get going this weekend as Sydney Motorsport Park is his home circuit.
”Finally Sydney Motorsport Park has come around, my home event. I’m definitely looking forward to this one, spent a lot of time out there. The car is pretty good there and we’ve learnt a little bit more since we had the official test there. So, looking forward jumping into the car and see what kind of weekend we can get going, definitely looking for a good one,” said Wall.
Last V8 Supercars weekend at Queensland Raceway became the so far best of 2015 for Volvo with McLaughlin securing pole position and a podium finish.
”I am looking forward to the weekend, this is a track that I enjoy as a driver but it is very technical. For us to get the setup right is going to be very important. It might rain on the weekend too, so could make it interesting. I’m looking forward to hopefully have a good run,” said McLaughlin.
