The Canterbury Car Club is ready to push the ‘go’ button on the building of a new pit complex at their Euromarque Motorsport Park in Ruapuna on the outskirts of Christchurch.
As part of a continuous upgrade to the circuit, over $2 million has already been raised for the approximate $3 million build.

The Club hosted an information evening this week in Christchurch with staff and supporters. Another $250,000 was raised over the evening when renditions of the pit complex were revealed. Compered by Stephen McIvor, key addresses were given by several involved in the planning and fund raising including the Christchurch Mayor, Phil Mauger, a long-time Canterbury Car Club member.
Plans will shortly go to the Christchurch City Council for consenting with the current pit complex to be deconstructed before the 2027 round of the Repco Supercars Championship in the autumn. There is a viable option of moving the current pits to be utilised on site.

It is reported that Supercars’ management are very happy with the future arrangement and will provide marques for their teams at the 2027 event.
Work will get underway straight after the international event with a completion date by the end of 2027 and the garages fully operational for the 2028 Supercars event.
Thirteen garages will be built, each with two garage doors on both sides with room for four cars. A single door garage will also be part of the complex for fire/emergency/Parc ferme.
