Friday is Day 2 for the Repco Supercars Championship at the Melbourne SuperSprint, with a 19-lap, 105-kilometre race scheduled for late this afternoon.
Today’s race begins at 5:30 p.m. AEDT, where reigning Repco Bathurst 1000 winner Matt Payne will lead the field from pole position.
Payne finished second in yesterday’s opening race of the weekend, and with it took the championship lead from Triple Eight’s Broc Feeney.

23-year old Kiwi Payne will be joined by 2023 Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki on the front row.
Despite illness yesterday that saw him vomit in the car, Kostecki won Thursday’s race from pole position, his first win of the 2026 season.
Race 5 of the 2026 Supercars season begins at 5:30 p.m. AEDT today.
Fans can meet the Supercars field this morning at an all-driver signing session from 10:30 a.m., located in front of Supercars team garages in the Motorsport Straight precinct behind the Senna Grandstand near Turn 14.
The driver who scores the most points across the Melbourne SuperSprint will be awarded the Larry Perkins Trophy, named for six-time Bathurst 1000 winner and former Formula One driver Larry Perkins.
