Stanaway docked two-grid spots after podium finish in Super2 Series

Richie Stanaway’s debut in the Dunlop Super2 Series has been tarnished with a post-race penalty. Anton De Pasquale and Stanaway received two-place grid penalties ahead of Race 2 for the Dunlop Super2 Series at the Red Rooster Sydney SuperSprint. The pair finished second and third respectively in the opening race before mistakenly heading to pitlane on the cool-down lap instead of returning straight to the paddock.

“Following an investigation by the RD after the session into a suspected breach of End of Race Procedures, Car #67, Anton De Pasquale, failed to observe the End of Race Procedure by continuing around the track past Turn 4 and an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Two (2) Grid Spot Penalty for Race 2 of Round 5 in the 2017 Dunlop Super2 Series.

“Following an investigation by the RD after the session into a suspected breach of End of Race Procedures, Car #6, Richie Stanaway, failed to observe the End of Race Procedure by continuing around the track past Turn 4 and an admission to the breach, the Stewards imposed a Two (2) Grid Spot Penalty for Race 2 of Round 5 in the 2017 Dunlop Super2 Series.”

The penalties promote Jack Le Brocq and Garry Jacobson to second and third on the Race 2 grid respectively.
