The annual pilgrimage to the Timaru International Raceway to partake of the Dual Car Sprint gem, that is the Ashburton Car Club sealed contribution to the Interclub Series, was taken up by 27 competitors from around the Canterbury province.

With a chilly, but sunny, start to the day, many waited until after lunch to post their best time for 4-laps of this tricky circuit.

Gareth Evans (Nissan R32) posted the best time of the day with a 4m31.8s 4 laps. Shane Stocker (RX7) was just over a second back with Callum Stocker, in the same car, 2.5 seconds further back.

In the points, Ashburton Car Club raked in 88 with the Canterbury Car Club top five managing a good haul of 67-points. The other clubs were not represented.

Canterbury Car Club have now edged out a 26-point lead in the race to win the Dave McCahon CANTERBURY INTERCLUB Trophy in 2021.
