North Island Endurance Series underway with competitive round in Taupo

The three-round 2025 North Island Endurance Series got underway with an action-packed opening Three-Hour and One-Hour races at Taupō International Motorsport Park over the weekend. 

Sam Fillmore and Johnny Reid lead the Three-Hour charge overall in their Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3, after finishing ahead of rivals Glen Brazier and Andrew Waite (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo) and Steve Brooks and Bill Riding (Audi R8 LMS Evo II GT3), all in the GT Class.

Sam Cotterill & Max Vidau (Porsche GT3 Cup 992) were first home in Class 1 with Glen Cotterill & Brock Gilchrist (Porsche GT3 Cup 992) in second and Paul Southam & Robert Steele (Porsche GT3 Cup 992) in third.

Samuel Gilbertson and John McIntyre (Porsche GT3 Cup 991 MR) took maximum points in Class 2.

Steve Brooks and Bill Riding went to the top of the One-Hour standings after a dominant win in their Porsche GT3 Cup

In the One-Hour race, Steve Brooks and Bill Riding went to the top of the standings after a dominant win in their Porsche GT3 Cup with Nick Chester (Holden Commodore V8SC) in second ahead of Francois Beziac (Porsche GT3 Cup 991 11 MR).

The second round takes place 13-14 June 2025 at the Hampton Downs Motorsport Park.
