Strong competition for Paddon at Rally Hungary

The 2024 FIA European Rally Championship continues to go from strength to strength in 2024 with a standout entry list for the season-opening event highlighting the level of interest among competing teams and drivers.

V-Híd Rally Hungary, based in the city of Veszprém from 12-14 April 2024, will be contested by no fewer than 52 registered ERC crews. But as well as the quantity, there’s also plenty of quality on show with young talents taking on established stars from 24 countries. Indeed, the performance level is so high that picking a winner is an impossible task, such is the wide-open nature of the competition.

The ERC’s four official tyre partners – Hankook, Michelin, MRF and Pirelli – are all represented and will contest the inaugural FIA European Rally Championship for Tyre Suppliers. There will also be examples of cars from eight manufacturers, Citroën, Hyundai, M-Sport-Ford, Opel, Peugeot, Škoda, Toyota and Volkswagen in action.

In its 11th season, the FIA Junior ERC Championship boasts a 17-car entry and rewards the eventual champion with an FIA Junior WRC Championship prize drive.

WRC Promoter GmbH, the ERC promoter, has worked in close collaboration with M-Sport Poland to deliver the inaugural Fiesta Rally3 Trophy.

In addition to several calendar mainstays, Rali Ceredigion in Wales and Rally Silesia in Poland are new to the schedule for 2014, while Delfi Rally Estonia makes a welcome return to the championship for the first time since 2016.
