Jacob Douglas has won all three races in the first of two 2023 Yacademy USF Junior Winter Series at Sebring International Raceway.
“It’s been a good day in Sebring,” commented Douglas. “I managed to get all 3 three wins for a positive start to the season. It was also good to get some race laps as it’s been a while. Back on track at Homestead-Miami Speedway for Round 2 in two days.”
The Kiwi driver qualified second, on the front row of the grid, for the 14-lap Race 1 and beat home Ethan Ho by over three-seconds to secure pole position for Race 2.
Douglas’ took his second win, over 11 laps from Joey Brienza and Zack Ping which put him sixth on the grid for the final revers-top-6 14-laps race, again beating home, Brienza.
The USF Junior is a category below the USF2000 that Douglas competed in last season and is returning to for a second year with Exclusive Autosport. It has the same chassis and engine albeit restricted and with different brakes.
Drivers face their final round at Homestead-Miami Speedway 11-12 February 2023.
