Kai flies to Saturday Supercars win at Hidden Valley

Supercars’ newest young star has made a statement today, as Kai Allen took a dominant win in Saturday’s 200-kilometre race at the betr Darwin Triple Crown.

After picking up his first career win in April in New Zealand, it is 20-year old Allen’s second Supercars victory.

It also is remarkably his fourth podium in five races at Hidden Valley Raceway.

The Mount Gambier product was followed home by Mildura’s Cam Waters who started from pole, and West Australian Brodie Kostecki who rounded out the podium

Allen also now holds a five-point margin over Waters in the battle for the Darwin Triple Crown

Kostecki’s podium is impressive considering the 28-year old has been battling flu-like symptoms throughout the weekend.

Both Kostecki (illness) and Thomas Randle (heat-related) were seen at the trackside Medical Centre and released post-race.

Kiwi Matt Payne and Toowoomba’s Will Brown rounded out the top five, while defending champion Chaz Mostert and current championship leader Broc Feeney came home sixth and seventh.

Feeney held a 90-point advantage over Payne heading into this weekend, with that advantage now slashed to just 39 points with one race remaining in the weekend.

Allen also now holds a five-point margin over Waters in the battle for the Darwin Triple Crown – which will be awarded to the driver who scores the most points across this weekend’s event.

Supercars returns to the track Sunday morning for Boost Mobile Qualifying at 10:45 a.m. ACST, to set the grid for Race 19 of the 2026, which begins at 2:40 p.m.
