Kostecki rejoins Erebus Motorsport for Taupo Supercars round

Current Repco Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki has announced his return to the series in New Zealand at the Taupō Super400

“I’m excited to be back behind the wheel again. I needed some time away to prioritise my health,” Kostecki stated. “I’m grateful for the support, privacy and time Betty, Barry, and the team have given me.”

Kostecki has not raced since sealing his maiden career Supercars title in Adelaide last year, missing the season opening round in Bathurst and last month’s round at the Australian Grand Prix.

He will return to driving this week, with a test at Victoria’s Winton circuit, before heading to New Zealand to race next week at Supercars first ever round at Taupō.

The Perth-born, Gold Coast based 26-year-old Kostecki has remained tight lipped about his reasons for missing the opening two rounds of the year up until now.

The ITM Taupō Super400 will be the first ever event for Supercars at the Taupō circuit, and will run next week from 19-21 April.

Kostecki’s 2023 Erebus teammate and now Red Bull driver Will Brown leads the Championship heading into the Taupō round, holding a 17-point Championship lead.
