Brodie Kostecki has returned to victory lane with a resounding win on Sunday at the NTI Townsville 500.
Kostecki scored pole for both of the previous races this weekend but had been unable to convert either to victory.
Driving Dick Johnson’s famous No. 17, it is Kostecki’s 17th career win, sixth of 2026, but his first since Christchurch in April.

The relative win-drought was noticeable when Kostecki hit the wall during his victory burnout, in images similar to Will Davison finding the wall in the same spot after winning in 2013.
The West Australian was followed home by championship leader Matt Payne in second, with Cam Waters rounding out the podium.
“We made sure we brought the ‘beast’ home nice and safe,” commented Payne. “What a day! We qualified third, got a bad start but the team played an awesome strategy and we pitted early. We tried the undercut which worked really well. More points for us from a solid day.”
Chaz Mostert led the way for Toyota in fourth while Payne’s teammate Kai Allen finished fifth.

Broc Feeney finished sixth to finish an abnormally quiet weekend for Triple Eight Race Engineering. The 23-year old came into this weekend leading the championship, but now finds himself 92 points in arrears of Payne.
The Repco Supercars Championship resumes at the end of the month as the Championship heads west to Perth.
