Antis graduates from 2016 Elite Motorsport Academy

Nineteen year old Auckland based rally co-driver Kieran Anstis has achieved his major goal of completing and graduating from the 2016 Elite Motorsport Academy recently held in Dunedin.

“It was definitely a hard week for me, physically and mentally I was pushed to my limits but that was the best thing, it has enabled me to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.”

The Elite Motorsport Academy Camp is held over a week in Dunedin based at High Performance Sport New Zealand.

“It was really inspirational to be training around athletes preparing for Rio and seeing familiar faces. It really helped me to push through the physical and mental challenges.”

Over the week eight drivers and co drivers are introduced to physical and mental challenges to give them the experience and skills they need to progress further in their motorsport careers

“I have come out of the week with so much more confidence. I started applying the skills I learnt during the week and it improved my performance significantly. I can’t wait to start applying the practices to my motorsport career and goal of competing in the WRC.

“I want to thank the Motorsport New Zealand Trust, Motorsport New Zealand and High Performance Sport New Zealand so much for the opportunity to go through this program.”

Kieran’s focus now shifts to the final round of the New Zealand Rally Championship in Coromandel on the 20th of August with driver Jono Shapley.
