Canterbury Car Club master of Timaru International Raceway, Terence Phillips (RX7) (main photo), smashed out a 13.5 second margin over his nearest rivals in the latest (third) round of the 2023 Canterbury Interclub series.
With a horde of Ashburton Car Club competitors on his tailpipe, it wasn’t enough to prevent Ashburton from leaping into the lead with a margin of 47-points over Canterbury, which now holds second overall.
The non-appearance of members from the other two clubs amongst the 42 who entered for the day probably helped Ashburton and Canterbury to the golden points haul.
Ashburton Car Club’s points earners were Robert McKenzie (Starlet) 2nd, Stan Moore (Evo 2) 3rd, Jared Tubb (RX8) 5th, Scott Clark (WRX) 7th and Lyndon Ball (Evo) 8th helping their club to a points haul of 85.
