Neale extends lead in South Island Formula Ford Championship

Christchurch Will Neale has extended his lead in the 2024/25 Yokohama South Island Formula Ford Championship (SIFF) after the fourth round was held at the Thunder Down Under meeting at Timaru International Raceway over the weekend.  The round also doubled as the first of four in the 2025 Napa Auto Parts NZ Formula Ford Championship, with most top drivers focusing on the race for the national title.

Dylan Grant moves into second place, 224-points behind Neale with Izaak Fletcher taking up third, 48-points behind Grant.

Dylan Petch has dropped down from second to fourth after a technical breach was found at the conclusion of the meeting, excluding him from the results of Races 2, 3 and 4.

Neale won the penultimate round from Grant with new SIFF member Australian rookie Lincoln Taylor third. The Queensland teenager has come to New Zealand to contest the national championship having never previously driven a Formula Ford and won the third race last weekend

The series takes a short break before returning for the fifth and final round in Christchurch 22-23 March 2025.
