Ipswich Super 440 begins today at Queensland Raceway

Supercars return to the track at Queensland Raceway later today, as the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 gets underway.

The Repco Supercars Championship returns to Ipswich this weekend for the ninth round of the 2026 campaign.

Ipswich welcomed the Championship to town last night at Supercars Fan Fare in Ipswich CBD, highlighted by a signing session with all 27 drivers entered in this year’s event.

Kiwi Andre Heimgartner has his eyes on making the Supercars Finals, sitting just 128 points outside of that crucial 10th spot in the standings with three rounds before the cut off.

A feature at the Ipswich event, the Perth-based Kiwi has taken the opportunity to camp at the circuit this weekend amongst the fans.

2023 champion Brodie Kostecki is optimistic he can feature at the front this weekend, after promising speed in Perth earlier this month was hampered by issues in races.

Kostecki leads all drivers with six wins so far in 2026, but inconsistency and errors see him just fourth in the standings through 25 races.

On-track action at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 begins with two practice sessions from 2:40 p.m. AEST this afternoon.

Friday’s action will be followed by two 120-kilometre Supercars races on Saturday and one 200-kilometre race on Sunday.

As the end of the Repco Sprint Cup, at the end of this weekend the driver leading the standings will earn an automatic entry in the Supercars Finals.
