Kostecki charges to Sunday pole on the Gold Coast

Reigning Bathurst 1000 winner Brodie Kostecki has confirmed his return to form by taking Boost Mobile Pole for Sunday’s race at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

Just a fortnight removed from the West Aussie’s pole and victory at the Repco Bathurst 1000, Kostecki repeated his 2023 effort on the Gold Coast, taking pole in the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout early Sunday afternoon.
It is the 2023 Supercars champion’s second pole of 2024 and 13th of his career.

Kostecki’s former teammate and current championship leader Will Brown will line up second as he looks to extend his championship lead over Triple Eight teammate Broc Feeney.

Gold Coast local Feeney will start from fifth, while fellow championship hopeful Chaz Mostert will go from fourth.

Yesterday’s pole sitter and race winner Cam Waters will start seventh, and will need another strong day to keep himself in mathematical championship contention.

Race 22 of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season will start at 2:15 p.m. AEST, with 85 laps and 250 kilometres scheduled for the 24-car field.
