Brodie Kostecki has sent an ominous warning shot to open the betr Darwin Triple Crown, taking pole for today’s opening race at Hidden Valley Raceway.
The 2023 Supercars champion snared Boost Mobile Pole by 0.02 of a second from Chevrolet driver Anton De Pasquale, his fourth of the 2026 season.
Importantly, the Dick Johnson Racing driver has converted each of his previous three poles into race wins, most recently at Christchurch in April.
Ford frontrunners Matt Payne and Cam Waters will make up the second row of the grid today, with rookie Jayden Ojeda impressing by qualifying fifth.
Perhaps the biggest story of all though is championship leader Broc Feeney, who qualified just 13th for today’s race.
Feeney – the defending winner of the Darwin Triple Crown – won all three races from pole in 2025.
This afternoon’s race will be the first Friday Supercars race held at Hidden Valley Raceway, with a 35-lap, 100-kilometre race scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. ACST.
The driver who scores the most points across this weekend will be awarded the Darwin Triple Crown.
