Hamilton was right, Verstappen had more to lose!

We want F1 drivers’ to speak their mind and not give the generic politically correct answers to questions and situations.  But when Max Verstappen called Esteban Orcon an ‘idiot’ and then a ‘pussy’ one does start to cringe.

Ocon had been trying to unlap himself at the 2018 Brazilian Grand Prix and on fresher supersoft tyres was quicker than Verstappen. Both collided at turn 2 spinning both cars with Verstappen losing the lead of the race.  Orcon was deemed to be at fault by the race stewards and given a 10-second stop-go penalty for his part in the clash.

After the race Verstappen labelled Orcon as ‘such an idiot’ then shoved the Forced India driver when drivers were being weighted.  He then went on to say Orcon was “being a pussy”.

While the debate may be about who was in the right or wrong over the incident, race winner Lewis Hamilton said to Verstappen just before the podium celebrations, “You had more to lose than he did.  He had nothing to lose and you had it all.”

And that says it all.

Again, another example of Verstappen not wanting to accept any responsibility for his actions.  He put himself in a situation that you would not find the likes of Hamilton or Kimi Raikkonen in.
