Seven will become four in the Supercars Finals at this weekend’s Penrite Oil Sandown 500, as the top drivers in the Repco Supercars Championship will do battle for the right to race for a title at Supercars’ Grand Final later this month.
The championship hits the track at Sandown Raceway today (Friday), with 250-kilometre races on Saturday and Sunday.
While all 24 cars continue to race this weekend, the seven remaining Finalists have had their points reset before this weekend’s event, and only four will advance to Adelaide to decide the 2026 champion.
The seven Finalists gathered at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Thursday, before hitting the track at Sandown.
Reigning Supercars champion Chaz Mostert is back in form after a dominant win on the streets of the Gold Coast a fortnight ago, as the Queenslander continues his bid for back-to-back titles.
Meanwhile Mildura’s Cam Waters enters the weekend sixth in the standings, the 2017 Sandown 500 winner and Monster Ford needing a strong weekend to break into the final four as he chases his first Supercars crown.
On-track action at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 begins Friday, with two Supercars practice sessions at 2:40 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. AEDT.
250-kilometre races from 3:30 p.m. AEDT on Saturday and Sunday will then determine the final four who will compete for the Supercars title on the streets of Adelaide from November 26-29.
