Liam Lawson is currently on the podium of Formula One drivers who have penalties points against their name. His score of five puts him on the second step. Gain 12 and, like Kevin Magnesson who got to sit out the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, you get to miss a Grand Prix!

Points remain on a driver’s super Licence for 12 months.

Lawson’s penalties were gained over two separate Grand Prix weekends.
2024 Qatar GP – Causing a collision with Valtteri Bottas – two points
2025 Bahrain GP – For causing a collision with Lance Stroll – one point
2025 Bahrain GP – For causing a collision with Nico Hulkenberg – two points

If no more penalty points are gained over this season, then he will drop back to three in December 2025.

At the top of the table is current World Champion Max Verstappen. He’s on eight, all scored over the 2024 season.

2024 Austrian GP colliding with Lando Norris – two points
2024 Mexican GP forcing Lando Norris off track – two points
2024 Brazilian GP – Virtual Safety Car infringement – one points
2024 Qatar GP – Driving unnecessarily slowly in qualifying, impeded George Russell – one point
2024 Abu Dhabi GP – Collision with Oscar Piastri – two points

Also, on the penalty leader board after the Bahrain Grand Prix are Lando Norris (2), Oscar Piastri (4), George Russell (1), Fernando Alonso (5), Lance Stroll (4), Jack Doohan (4), Estaban Ocon (3), Ollie Bearman (2), Carlos Sainz (3), Alex Albon (2) and Nico Hulkenburg (4).
