Kiwi Hunter Robb set for Porsche Sprint Challenge season decider at Sandown

Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia heads to the Home of Horsepower at Sandown this weekend for the final round of the 2026 season, headlined by a four-way fight for the outright championship.

A fleet of 17 cars return to one of Australia’s most iconic racetracks, as Kobi Williams, Lincoln Taylor, Hunter Robb & Xavier Avramides are all still in contention for the championship.

Williams holds a slender 58 point margin over Taylor. The four youngsters, all representing different teams have won races this year, and will be looking to follow in the footsteps of drivers like Harri Jones, Tom Sargent & Caleb Sumich, who have gone onto have success on the world stage.

While the overall championship battles remain open heading into the finale, McElrea Racing’s Anthony Gilbertson has already secured the Pro-Am championship, capping off a successful campaign in the category, where he has claimed 13 of a possible 15 race victories.

With three races scheduled across the weekend, there will be little room for error. Sandown’s combination of high-speed straights, heavy braking zones and technical corners are expected to provide a challenging test for the field, with qualifying set to play an important role in shaping the weekend’s outcomes.

The weather this weekend could also play a factor, with rain expected on both Friday & Saturday, whilst a top of just 14 degrees on Saturday could provide teams and drivers with a challenge in maintaining tyre temperature.

A shorter 2-day race meeting will condense the on-track program, with a single 45-minute practice session on Friday morning at 9:45am AEDT, followed by a 30-minute qualifying session at 1:00pm. Race 1 of the weekend will conclude the on-track program for Friday, with a 25-minute race getting underway at 4:15pm local time.

Saturday will start with the Jim Richards Enduro Race starting at 8:30am AEDT, running for 45 minutes, before a champion will be crowned in a 25-minute sprint race to round out the season at 1:25pm AEDT.
