PREMA Racing’s Louis Sharp has grabbed three points after finishing eighth in the FIA Formula 3 Championship Sprint Race at Silverstone on Saturday morning. Starting from tenth on the grid, the Kiwi has added this to the two-points gained in the Barcelona round earlier in June and now sits 21st on the points table with an opportunity to move up the field with the Feature Race taking place on Sunday.
Current overall points leader, Ugo Ugochukwu, became the first repeat winner of the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season, claiming victory. The Campos Racing driver kept the lead at the start before driving off into the distance to win by 17 seconds. AIX Racing’s Yevan David became the first Sri Lankan driver to achieve a podium in F3 in P2, while Théophile Nael overtook Matteo De Palo at the last corner to finish third.
“I think so far this year, qualifying has been a bit of a challenge for us,” commented Sharp who qualified third fastest on Friday. “I think we’ve shown really good race pace, but qualifying has kind of been the area to work on. So going into this weekend, I was really focused on maximising the job, which I think we were able to do today”
