Supercars drivers are all set for Friday’s opening practice of this weekend’s Bosch Power Tools Perth Super440. It’s the fifth round of the Repco Supercars Championship in the west, at WA’s historic Wanneroo circuit, now known as CARCO.com.au Raceway.
The circuit will bring up a slice of history next week when it becomes the first in history to record 100 Championship races in Supercars/Australian Touring Car Championship.
Kiwi Matt Payne is hoping to continue the form that has propelled him into third place on the Championship table, and took him to a memorable victory in Tasmania last month.

“Really looking forward to getting practice underway,” commented Payne. “It’s important to us to be fast over the next couple of rounds. We struggled last year and so it will be good to see how we roll out into Friday practice. Getting everything absolutely right is crucial with no margin for error.”
Tickford wildcard Lochie Dalton, who is making his Supercars debut, is using this weekend as an audition for bigger things in the Supercars Championship for years to come.
Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Chevrolet driver Broc Feeney leads the standings by 33 points from his teammate Will Brown heading into next weekend, with rising kiwi star Matt Payne the best of the Ford drivers, third in the standings.
Perth born 2023 Champion and defending Bathurst Champion Brodie Kostecki, from Ballajura, is also hunting form on his home circuit.
The Bosch Power Tools Perth Super440 begins with practice on Friday before two races on Saturday and one race on Sunday.
